Founder Kat O’Brien worked in the sports industry for 15 years, including at ESPN and Real Madrid, and as a sports reporter. She has maintained strong contacts in the sports industry while working in other sectors for Mastercard, Samsung and tech startups – and is delighted to share her passion for and knowledge of Spain and sports with clients.

Originally from the U.S., Kat first came to Spain as a 19-year-old to study for a semester in Toledo. She fell in love with the country, and over the years has also lived in Madrid, Valencia and now Barcelona; and has visited all but one of Spain’s Comunidades Autónomas (similar to states). Prior to launching Gata Sports Tours, she had already helped 100+ people over the years with travel planning to Spain. She has also organized sports trips for friends and relatives around the world, including to the World Cup, LaLiga and Liga F matches, the Tour de France, tennis Grand Slam Finals, the Olympics, the World Series, the Eurocopa, Champions League, the College Football National Championship, and more.
